This charming lodge is nestled in the heart of Limón Indanza, in the province of Morona Santiago, Ecuador, offering a unique experience for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts alike. We are perched at an elevation of 1,200 meters above sea level, immersed in a lush Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest ecosystem. Conveniently located 110 km from the city of Cuenca and 100 km from Macas, our lodge is easily accessible for travelers seeking an authentic nature experience.
Our private nature reserve spans 7 hectares, dedicated to the conservation, observation, and photography of birds. We offer comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and restaurant services for a complete and pleasant stay in the heart of nature.
Our beautifully maintained gardens provide ideal spaces for observing hummingbirds and other unique species. Among them, you’ll find the Spangled Coquette, Blue-fronted Lancebill, Black-throated Brilliant, Golden-tailed Sapphire, Fork-tailed Woodnymph, Gray-chinned Hermit, Green Hermit, and Pale-tailed Barbthroat.
We also offer a well-maintained 300-meter trail within the forest, featuring three strategically placed bird-watching hides. The first hide provides a close-up view of the lek of the Andean Cock-of-the-rock, with photography distances ranging from 5 to 8 meters. The second hide is ideal for observing the White-crowned Manakin, and the third hide, a moth trap, frequently attracts species such as the Plain-brown Woodcreeper, White-chested Puffbird, Collared Trogon, Ornate Flycatcher, White-breasted Wood-Wren, Spot-winged Antbird, and Plain Antvireo.
Throughout our forest, you can spot other remarkable species, including the Striolated Manakin, Red-crested Finch, Blue-crowned Trogon, Wing-barred Piprites, Southern Lapwing, Paradise Tanager, Silver-beaked Tanager, Blue-necked Tanager, Buff-throated Saltator, and Black-billed Thrush, among others.
